I brewed this strong, about a minute longer than I usually do, and the robust black tea base held up without turning bitter. The bright spice lingers in the finish, which is exactly what I want in a morning cup. Already halfway through the tin.
I was expecting a standard black tea and got something with real backbone—the robust African leaves hold up well to a splash of milk without going flat. The spice flavor lingers just enough after each sip to make a second cup tempting.
The spice comes through nicely without burying the tea, and it holds up well with a splash of milk. I'd like a bit more of the bright, malty edge, but for a hearty morning cup it does the job.
