Interestingly, one of the most popular teas in our Japanese market is Earl Grey. We thought it would be a unique combination to blend the flavors of a favored tea there with a traditional green tea they are well known for. The result is a blend of East meets West that will be sure to please.

I was skeptical about mixing Earl Grey with matcha but the combo totally works — you get the citrusy bergamot softened by that earthy green tea finish. Steeped it at 80°C and it came out smooth without any bitterness.

The bergamot hits first, then that grassy matcha finish comes through — it's such an odd combo on paper but it totally works in the cup. Steeped it for about 80 seconds and got almost no bitterness, which surprised me.
