位於中國福建省東北角的沿海城市福鼎，是白茶的故鄉，也是白茶商業化的發源地。
在福鼎郊外的山丘上，茶園裡種滿了名為「大白」的特殊茶樹品種。這個名字名副其實。這些茶樹長出肥厚的芽苞，覆蓋著濃密的絨毛。植株將養分儲存在芽苞中，因為這是茶樹的未來。在細小的銀針內部，含有額外的糖分、多酚類物質，甚至還有更多的咖啡因。那層絨毛由絨毛體組成，幫助未成熟的芽苞在嚴酷的環境中存活。在茶農細心手工採摘這些芽苞後，大多數製茶師會將芽苞放入茶倉中，讓它們慢慢乾燥。
這款帶有細膩甜味的茶，可以直接用茶杯品飲，也可以像中國人那樣，舀一匙茶葉放入裝有熱水的透明玻璃杯中。看著芽苞在水中緩緩下沉，這個過程非常療癒。
First steep smells like fresh hay and warm honey, and the liquor is so pale it almost looks like water — but the sweetness lingers on the tongue for minutes. I’ve been brewing the same leaves three times today and each cup stays delicate instead of turning bitter.
The dry leaves are so downy and silvery, just as the name says. Steeped it for a few minutes and the liquor is pale and delicate, with that sweet, grassy note you hope for from Fuding. It’s a little slice of that coastal region in my cup, very calming.
