I was skeptical about the duck angle, but the toasted brown rice kernels give it a rich, nutty depth that makes the bancha taste almost sweet. It’s become my afternoon go-to when I want something warm but not heavy.

I was a bit worried the bancha base might be too grassy, but it's surprisingly smooth with a nice roasted finish. The fat brown rice kernels really do hold up well over multiple steeps, which makes this bag last longer than I expected.

The fat brown rice kernels give it a really satisfying toasty chew that I don't usually find in other genmaichas. The bancha base keeps it smooth enough for a daily afternoon cup, though I wish the bag was resealable since it's a bit fiddly to close.
